Food is More Than Just Fuel
Paige is a registered dietitian who specializes in anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder, bulimia, ARFID, orthorexia, and other specified feeding and eating disorders. She practices under the “Health At Every Size” (HAES) philosophy and understands that body size is not a determinant factor of health. By incorporating an “all foods fit” approach to eating, Paige works alongside her clients to understand the benefits of a less restrictive, more inclusive and joyful approach to eating. While this is not easy, she helps her clients to understand the value of decreasing the “good food bad food” thoughts and have more peace with food. Paige also helps her clients explore relationships with food and body and how it affects our overall quality of life. She compassionately works with clients to find sustainable and flexible solutions to eating. Paige can utilize family involvement and Family Based Treatment with clients and helps to bridge the understanding of what their family member is going through and how to facilitate recovery within the home and family system.
Food represents so much more than nourishment and is woven into our culture, traditions, celebrations and so much more. Paige enjoys working with clients with a wide range of backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures and understands the importance of individualizing and honoring a person's plan based on this.
Paige was born and raised in the Snoqualmie Valley and has since returned to live here after graduating from Central Washington University. Paige graduated with a degree in Food Science and Nutrition with a specialization in Dietetics and a minor in Public Health.
Paige’s work experience includes her role as a Nutrition Manager and dietitian at a long-term care facility. At this time in her career, she became passionate about increasing quality of life for the elderly. It became clear to her that nutrition is not only about what foods to take away, but also about how adding foods can increase joy and happiness. Malnutrition in the elderly population is unfortunately quite common and Paige advocated for ways to decrease malnutrition risk by prescribing supplements or less restrictive diet orders when appropriate.
Most recently, Paige was an eating disorder dietitian in a higher level of care setting. Her primary role included working with child and adolescent patients at the residential, partial hospitalization levels of care and in intensive outpatient level (IOP) of care. Paige’s experience utilizing Family Based Treatment with child and adolescent clients struggling with eating disorders continues to be an integral treatment strategy.
Outside of work, Paige enjoys cooking for friends and family. She loves hosting friends over for dinner parties, reading fiction books, yoga, bike riding, wine tasting, traveling and watching mariners games.
